Language Arts: Word work with list 3(family) words/Sight word test. We will start our spelling tests for list 4 on Friday, Nov 9th.

- Daily Language Review
- Read "Hey, That's My Monster" and "I Need a Monster" - learned about using descriptive words in our writing.
- Created a monster and worked on writing descriptive sentences to complete a paragraph about our monsters. We will share them with our grade 6 buddies this week.
Math: New Unit - Number Sense - worked on counting forward and backwards on our student created number lines.
- Counting by 2's, 5's and 10's and looking patterns in our numbers.
Science: Dissolving solids in water - learning about the term, "dissolve
- Which is heavier activity. Observing interactions between oil and water - seeing that they do not mix and oil stays at the top.
Social: Mapping assessment - They will go home Monday - Please review, sign and return.
Religion: Student prayers
Art: Part 1 - Haunted houses- (Please send an old shirt to paint in. They will be returned at the end of the year). Students took their squirrels home on Friday.
Gym: Scoopballs
Upcoming:
Oct 30th: Library - return library books
Oct 31st: Spirit Day- simple costume or black and orange day
Return home reading. Please read the home reading books every week (multiple times for fluency) and record.
Nov 1st: Faith Day - no school for students
Nov 2nd: No school
