Language Arts: Daily Five/Literacy Centres
- Expository writing - The House Tour - writing an introduction and conclusion using topic sentences and including 2 main ideas. Learning how to use a question to grab the readers attention. Started on the main event - the body paragraphs. Students are writing about 2 of their favorite places in their house.

Math: Adding 1 and 2 more/subtracting 1 and 2 less. Students practiced using different strategies when adding and subtracting.
- Make 10 strategy
- Adding with doubles and doubles plus 1 and 2.
- Math fact practice - adding 3's
Numbers assessment on Thursday, March 21st. (See study guide that went home Friday.)
Social: Looking at the people of Meteghan/Saskatoon and Iqaluit
Art: Leprechaun hand-print art/students decorated our door Leprechaun style. Students built leprechaun traps with their grade 6 buddies. We will see Monday if we are lucky enough to catch a leprechaun.
Gym: Basketball skills and drills practice/learning about team work.
Health: Read, 'My Mouth is a Volcano'
Learning about taking a deep breath and thinking before we blurt/interrupt.

March 22nd: Last day of school before Spring Break. Return on Monday, April 1st.
