2M Update:

Language Arts: Calendar routine/Review printing letters O,P & Q.

  • Finished Fall book - fall descriptive words/fill in blank sentences and fall writing using our new words and our 5 senses.
  • Thanksgiving writing - What are we thankful for?(See picture)
No sight words as it is another short week.
***Home Reading: Please read daily, record on the home reading sheets and return every Wednesday.***










Math: Extending patterns and creating increasing patterns.  
  • We will be finishing up our Patterns unit this week.  Red math duo-tangs will go home Friday.  Pattern assessment will be Thursday, Oct 18th.  Please see study guide that will go home Friday.
Science: Racing Liquids activity: exploring viscosity ex/ chocolate syrup had a higher viscosity then vinegar(Picture attached - compared thickness of different liquids by racing them down a pan.










Health:
  All about me booklets
Art: Finished Stamped tree art - see picture













X-mas card art - this week students drew and colored a Nativity scene.  Parents will have an opportunity to purchase these in the form of a Christmas card.  Details will go home closer to December.
Religion: Practiced Thanksgiving Liturgy - readings/song and procession.
  • Prayer Table setup and discussion/Grace before meals practice
  •  A prayer table has 5 items: bible/candle/white cloth/cross(rosary)/and something living(plant or animal).  We have a class beta fish as part of out prayer table.













Upcoming:

Oct 10th: Return home reading
                Teacher's Pet: In school field trip - 1-3 pm(Inuit Presentation)
***Parent volunteers need to come for 12:40 to help with setup.***
Oct 11th: Return library books.
Oct 12th: Fun Food Thanh Thy
                Red math duo-tangs go home today(Patterns assessment Thurs, Oct 18th)
